Personally, I think everyone will be using lifestreams soon. They’re wonderfully convenient, quite fashionable and a great reminder to me of the parts of my social graph I need to update.
It works like this. On this page, which is made up of WordPress and the Social Life theme from Press 75, I enter the details for all of my social media portals.
The theme automagically posts recent activity from all my profiles in neatly laid out sections for Twitter, YouTube, Flickr and the feed for my official blog. For visitors, it’s a great way to discover (hopefully) ways to connect with me online by seeing a snapshot of what I’ve been up to. For me, it’s a reminder that I need to improve certain areas of my social presence, specifically my Flickr and YouTube channels.
The empty content areas staring at me feel like an early morning introspective after a late night of debauchery (so I imagine). Looking into my virtual mirror reminds me that connecting is all about creating and sharing all kinds of content – self promotional or otherwise.
Want your own stream? No problem, drop me an email.
