Since you're here, we'd like to bend your ear for a minute. We'd like to invite you to effect positive change in people's lives.
A positive resolution
Social media is a great place to engage in meangingful dialogue. To use our voices to vote for what we believe in. Sometimes, things go sour, and I believe that that's a great time to change the conversation.
There's no doubt that what happened with Dream Dress for Less sparked a lot of negative attention. In the aftermath, I've been fortunate to speak with Jordon van der Goes, a small business owner here in Nanaimo. Jordon and I have been talking about the recent episode; on my blog, on Facebook, and more recently in person, and while we disagree on several issues, we both agreed that enough negativity has been spread and that we'd like to see any residual attention directed into something positive.
What we feel, is that if you have the time to read that old post, we'd like to invite you instead to use your time to help make things better by supporting a local organization; the Nanaimo Women's Resource Centre. This is an organization that Jordon and I feel is worth giving your time to, even if just to visit their website or share it with your friends.
Jordon and I have chosen to set our differences aside in favour of working together to support a worthy cause by making matching donations to the Nanaimo Women's Resource Centre of $50 each. Please join us in ending a negative situation with a positive change that could really help people in need.
