I was doing some keyword research today for a health center I’m working with.  Specifically, keywords related to skin lightening creams and products.

Now, at the best of times I have a love-hate relationship with keyword research.  I’m always shocked to discover the new and fascinating meanings seemingly innocuous words can take on in the hands of masses of sex crazed lunatics.  But the research has to be done – so I usually just look away and power through.  The upside to research is that I get a crash course in a thing, or a person, or a place, or anything at all – and I get to be an ‘expert’ in whatever that is for a little while.

Today, in my search for related terms to ‘lightening’, 3/4 of the total search volume was related to the abrupt electric discharge rather than the cream.  It reminds me that misspellings are often as valuable a target for adwords campaigns as the right spelling can be.

Anybody in the market for some lightning cream?
