This to me is just obvious, but it's amazing that there are so many businesses NOT listed in Google. Thanks for discussing the importance of this.

I wonder, if I walked through any mall in America right now, asking 'if you had to find a plumber, where would you start' or 'if you're in a new city, how do you find the local pizzaria'. I would suspect at least 50%, if not more, of the people either say 'internet search' or 'Google'.

People are using Google to find local businesses, period, everyday, all day. So why aren't business owners on board?

I have a free step by step book that you can register and download, 184 pages for local business owners. Download at http://www.scott-gallagher.net.
